PCRF's Mission of Hope

As head of Jet Clean Janitorial, Inc., in Yorba Linda, California, Shawn Tillitt delivers a full range of interior restoration and cleaning services to businesses and institutions. Active in his community, Shawn Tillitt sponsors local high school and youth sports, and is a contributor to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF).

Cancer mom Karla shares her experience on the PCRF website, explaining why pediatric cancer initiatives are so important. In late 2019, at only 21 months old, her son Ezekiel received a High-Risk B-Cell ALL diagnosis. This led to her connecting with the support resources offered by the PCRF for leukemia patients. In honoring her “brave little dude,” more than a dozen friends teamed up for PCRF’s Reaching for the Cure fundraiser.

Karla sums up the importance of the PCRF mission in one word: “Hope.” This includes grant-funded research into leading-edge cures for cancer. Another aspect is ensuring a healthy life after cancer. Karla’s young son presently undergoes “harsh adult treatments” that, even should he overcome leukemia, will likely result in persistent health issues into adulthood. In beating cancer, leukemia survivors continue to face elevated health risks. This is where the PCRF’s mission comes into play.
